Courses FAQ

  • Do you prescribe a specific style of parenting?

No! My classes are based on the assumption that you being yourself is the best thing for your parenting. What I offer are perspectives, tools and clarity that are applicable to all different family styles.

  • I've taken other parenting courses. How are yours different?

Fundamental to my work is a deep respect for all parents and a profound understanding of the challenges they face in implementing ideal practices. Moms leave my classes feeling empowered, with healthy doses of humor and self-compassion. My courses are based on the teachings of Rebbetzin Sima Spetner, who was a close student of Rabbi Shlomo Wolbe zt’l. She has endorsed my classes and provided her guidance since I began teaching this invaluable material in 2014.

  • I've made so many mistakes already, is it worth it to learn new skills now?

Yes! Of course you’ve made mistakes. It’s impossible not to. Thankfully, you still have the job and children are very flexible. This relationship is for life and absolutely worth the effort. I have seen countless parents enjoy dramatic improvements, despite years of patterns that had been counterproductive.

  • Is my kid too difficult for this to help?

No—these courses offer fundamental insights and skills that are helpful for parenting any child, even those exhibiting very challenging behaviors. While some kids might need their own professional support, classes for their parents nevertheless provide clarity that is essential for the child’s thriving. Also, when there is an especially challenging child in a family, it is common for siblings to be affected as well. The more a parent is armed with know-how and confidence, the more they will be able to meet the needs of all the kids in the home.

  • What ages are your courses geared for?

The Foundations series is appropriate for parents of children from ages 3 to 12. The Teen series is geared for parents of children aged 11 and up. Mini-courses on various topics are for all ages unless otherwise noted.

  • My child is only a baby, should I take this course?

I love this question! It shows you are a proactive parent. Although these courses are geared for parents of children and do not address the basics of baby care, many women do find it helpful to get a head start on what’s coming. If you want to gain clarity on how to show up as a parent once that sweet baby starts telling you ‘No,” we’d love to have you in the group.
